Events of the Henry of Livonia Day in Rubene

On 16 July 2023, the traditional Henry of Livonia Day was held for the eighth time in Rubene, Kocēni rural territory, the place where Henricus de Lettis, the Catholic priest of Imer, wrote the Chronicle of Henry of Livonia which is the richest historical primary source about the present-day territory of Latvia and Estonia. The day began with a church service, later in the afternoon the National Library of Latvia in cooperation with Valmiera Library invited every interested person to two lectures in Rubene Church to celebrate the Henry of Livonia Day and 500 years of Latvian books.
