Event “My Mollin” dedicated to Riga’s first printer Nikolaus Mollin (around 1550/1555–1625)

17 January 2024, the National Library of Latvia (NLL) hosted the event “My Mollin” dedicated to Nikolaus Mollin (around 1550/1555–1625), offering three different perspectives on the professional activity of Riga’s first printer.

The event revealed the portrait of Nikolaus Mollin to a wider audience, looking at the printer both in the context of art history and focusing on foreign influences in his professional activity. Art historian Valdis Villerušs, expert of the Latvian Studies and Baltic Centre of the NLL Beāte Orlova, as well as literature and book publishing historian Ināra Klekere-Krekele introduced the multifaceted nature of the printer’s professional activity.
