From 2 to 4 May 2024, the conference “Archives of Autonomy: Immanuel Kant and the Baltic Region” was held at the University of Tartu, Estonia, where researchers of the prominent German philosopher Immanuel Kant from various European countries met.
The National Library of Latvia was represented by Dagnija Baltiņa, Director of the Special Collections Department of the NLL, and Raivis Bičevskis, Professor at the University of Latvia.
During the conference, Dagnija Baltiņa presented the NLL programme of events “Kant 300”, while Raivis Bičevskis presented so far unpublished manuscripts about Kant which are in the collection of the NLL and other memory repositories of Latvia. Many of the conference attendees from Germany and Estonia will soon meet again – on September 25-27 in the international conference “Mind in Riga” hosted by the NLL where a selection of the collection dedicated to Kant’s books will be opened.
