On 27 October 2023, a seminar "Latgalian Folklore and Literature" led by lecturer Katrīna Kūkoja was held at the Balvi Central Library. Katrīna Kūkoja talked about folklore and folklorism in Latgalian handwritten literature during the press ban and gathering and interpreting of Latgalian folklore in exile after World War II.
