On 17 May 2023, a lecture "Practical life between Roses and Poppies" by Kristīne Zaļuma, head of the Lettonica and Baltic Centre of the National Library of Latvia (NLL), was held at the NLL. The lecture made it possible to get acquainted with the working processes of manor farm maintenance and the manor servants who implemented them described in practical advice books.

Special attention was paid to publications and other materials from the collection of rare books and manuscripts of the NLL dedicated to the development of animal husbandry. The name of the event uses the names of the cows of the manors' herds mentioned in the NLL manuscript materials.
